The Assembly House Cafe

The Assembly House Cafe was built out of an old industrial grain silo, so its nothing much to look at from the outside, but inside is a sometimes dark den of mysterious travellers, criminals, adventurers and perhaps even anarchists! A revolving door brings you into an open lobby and elevator area – to your left is a grand cafe, with bars on several levels and a full, restored steampunk music organ entwining the room. In another silo, a kitchen and a full power plant with a few extra mysterious engines.

This model is the bonus model for Steampunk City Volume 1 Complete Edition and not sold separately.

About Toon Santa’s Christmas Village 2010 R2

Toon Santa’s Christmas Village 2010 R2 is a set of beautiful 3D Christmas holiday models from Meshbox Design. The Christmas Village series is an annual release product event, beginning in 2006, adding additional models to the growing North Pole village of Toon Santa. Create new, original North Pole village scenes in 3D.

The special theme release for 2010 is Steampunk Toon Santa, and instead of including all buildings, includes matched transportation or mobile models with standalone buildings.

The Grand Arboretum combines the steampunk vision of Albert Robida with a fast urban super terrarium such that urbanites in Paris or London may enjoy. The Grand Arboretum is a multistory, multi-building glass and metal structure, with an elevator, stairs and skywalks of glass and light weight metals, and high above is the home of the mysterious architect, spinning very slowly on a great set of clockwork gears.

Steampunk Bookstore and Scholar’s Apartment

This elegant citadel of learning features multiple check out counters and a multi-storied tower of books, all within reach of the patented Monton Archiver Machine, a steam powered machine capable of helping a seated operator locate and pick books from any shelf, and delivering it to the hands of a customer below. One can ascend the tower either by spiral staircase, or by elevator, and reach the observatory, where gentle persons can relax and read their books. But outside of this upper level is a curious combination of dwelling place and machine – the scholar’s apartment. The apartment has just enough room for a few volumes of books and a bed, along with its unusual machinery – perhaps a traveling container of some kind?

Although many have benefited from the expanded empire, the city has a dark side in the trade and indulgence of opium. This building once contained a prosperous Chinese laundry, until less scrupulous elements moved in and turned it into an opium den. This contains multiple floors, with a lobby/registration area, dream rooms, bunks for sleeping it off, and the multi-floor decaying laundry, still intact – and still capable of using the old but serviceable steam-powered laundry system.

Abandoned Clock Factory and Villain’s Lair

Though the industry of the old Victorian Clock Factory is silenced, there is still hidden activity. The factory includes multiple buildings filled with rusted equipment, yet still of use. Large machines are quiet, but there’s a light in the office. Drive through the gates, and pull into the largest building. A suprisingly equipt office had some hidden stairs that in turn lead down to an office and engineering lab of a notorious steampunk villain.

Every major section of the largest cities in the steam powered Victorian Empire feature Zepplin Stations, where middle and upper class citizens can make use of the most advanced form of urban travel. At the bottom level, you can purchase tickets, then take one of two fast lifts up to the flight lobby. On the flight lobby, you can take a moment’s respite in the cafes at each end of the station, or simply sit on waiting benches for your flight.
